Light green boards with black lettering and design. Black embossed leather at spine. Binding is tight. Pages are clean. Beautifully illustrated. Front and back boards are creased yet intact and are chipped and edgeworn. Corner tips missing from a few pages. Few faint notes on FEP in pencil. "Such a book was needed for the advanced classes of our schools. The narrative, neither too diffuse nor too meagre, presents the leading events of the history of God's Church in their true proportions and flows on in an easy and graceful style. The type is clear, and the illustrations, nearly all taken from the works of great masters, are excellent and help much to make the book both instructive and attractive."
